Daniel Schmand is Deutsche Bank’s Head of Trade Finance and Regional Head GTB EMEA (excl. Germany, UK and Ireland), Chairman of ICC Banking Commission, Global Transaction Banking and located in Frankfurt.
He drives the bank’s award-winning trade finance business and is responsible for the global trade finance strategy.
In addition to the €51bn Deutsche Bank has on its books in documentary credits, collections and guarantees, this core area of transaction banking comprises structured commodity trade finance, commodity finance and structured export finance products and services, as well as the bank’s financial supply chain portfolio. The bank won The Banker’s Best Trade Finance Bank accolade in the publication’s Transaction Banking Awards.
As Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Banking Commission, Daniel oversees its strategic direction based on the three core pillars of Rulemaking & Standards, Advocacy and Inclusiveness as well as trade finance’s digitalisation journey.
Daniel joined Deutsche Bank in 1987 as a trainee. He holds a Bachelor’s degree of Business Administration as well as executive education at INSEAD and the International Leadership Programme at Ashridge, IMD and Duke.
